Castle Air Museum Open Cockpit Day, May 25th

Castle Air Museum, located at 5050 Santa Fe Drive in Atwater will be hosting its annual Open Cockpit Day event on Sunday, May 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

View nearly 60 vintage military aircraft with over 35 open for viewing!

There will be children's activities, including model airplane building, bounce house, law enforcement, and military vehicle displays, helicopter rides, fantastic food, and much more!

Witness the dedication of the museum's newest aircraft, the North American RA-5 Vigilante Reconnaissance Bomber, one of only 11 in existence!

Go aboard our former presidential (former Air Force One) aircraft for only $10 per person and see where former presidents Reagan and Clinton sat.

Admission is $12 adult, $8 senior (60 and over) $5 youth (6-17) children 5 and under, including active duty military free. General admission does not include presidential aircraft tours, those tours are $10 per person in addition to general admission.

MB2 Raceway Job Fair at Sierra Vista Mall

MB2 Raceway, the leader in indoor karting excitement will be conducting a Job Fair Thursday April 24th 3-8pm inside Sierra Vista Mall’s Community Room, just east of Kohl’s.

The following positions will be filled by MB2 Raceway Clovis:
*Front Counter/Party hosts
*Track Crew
*Mechanics
*Part time managers

The job fair will be conducted in a “speed interviewing” format to accommodate a large number of applicants. Applications will be provided upon arrival and interviews will be on a first come first serve basis. We look forward to providing Clovis with the absolute highest quality product in indoor kart racing and know that it is not possible without the highest quality employees.

20th Annual VW Show-Camp

The 20th Annual VW Show-Camp to Benefit the Poverello House & Rescue the Children Sunday, April 27th 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Madera Fairgrounds.

Free parking and spectator admission with a can of food for the Poverello House.

VW stock or custom (air or water cooled) show entry $15. VW toy entry $5.

Kids bring your VW Hot Wheels to drag race. Also join in the coloring contest!

Camp out Saturday night, April 26th.

Last year had over 300 VWs and 74 campers.

Fresno Police Make Homicide Arrest

On March 29, 2014, at 10:14pm, officers were sent to Normal and Mayfair Drive South regarding a victim of the shooting. Officers arrived and found Manuel Murillo, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound. Murillo died from his injuries. A friend of Murillo's was near Murillo when he was shot but he didn't suffer any injuries. Homicide Detectives Ray Villalvazo and Tony Rivera worked non stop and determined that Murillo was shot by another rival Bulldog gang member.

Participant's also learn the importance of school, staying healthy, and being a role model off the field. Merced County Looking For Escaped Inmate

Merced County Looking For Escaped Inmate

    Merced County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating and searching for an Inmate who escaped from the John Latoracca Correctional Facility, in Merced. David O’Neal Coleman Jr., age 40 of Merced, was found missing at about 4:45 a.m. this morning. Correctional Officers reported they noticed Coleman missing after conducting a routine Inmate headcount throughout the Inmates housing unit.

 

    Investigation has revealed that Coleman escaped through the roof area of the Inmate Housing Unit. In addition Coleman was able to manipulate the security razor wire fencing, freeing himself from confinement of the facility. It is believed Coleman ascertained serious injuries from the razor wire cuts during the escape.

 

    Coleman is described as a white male adult, forty years of age. He stands 6-0” and weighs approximately 200 pounds. Coleman has brown hair, brown eyes, and facial hair.
